Command Central

Yesterday was a bad day for me. I woke up at 3am with a killer migraine that no amount of drugs could control. I literally spent the entire day in a dark room with my eyes closed. After school I mustered up the will to get the boys homework done with them, but after that they had to fend for themselves! I just HATE being in pain and feeling like I can`t do anything. I am a worker bee by nature and it kills me to be laid up in bed or, in this case – on the couch, so that I could keep an eye/ear on the boys. Laying on the couch with my eyes closed, I started feeling guilty (as mothers do) about not spending quality time with the boys. But then I heard them playing in their “Office” and I remembered that sometimes it’s really good to leave them to their own devices, because that is when their imaginations really get a chance to soar. The boys collected old computer parts from their Dad’s computer graveyard, and they have set up command central behind my dining room table. Sometimes they play hospital, sometimes it’s the bridge of a spaceship, yesterday it was an office and it was music to my ears.
