Merry Christmas 2013

Xmas2013

Christmas in Canada is nothing like our Christmas days in Barbados. In Barbados we wake up and open our presents and then get ready to head to our family lunch where we spend the day with 4 generations of Banfields:)

It’s awesome!! Full of games, stories, bonding and we can’t forget – FOOD!! We spend the day eating and laughing until it’s time for people to make their way to another family dinner.

Here and now, Christmas is very different. It’s just me and my kids, and even them I only get to spend half of the day with. So a day that used to be one of my favourites, a day filled with love, laughter and family, has become a day that is a little bit sad:(

Knowing this, and having been fortunate enough to have been born into the most loving and supportive family anyone could ask for, my parents have flown up to spend Christmas with us – and that has made this day just a little bit brighter:)
