Table Conversation

We were all having lunch out on the porch today, the kids were sitting at the big table, my mom, Janine and I were sitting at the small table….

Cain shouts across the tables to me “Auntie Bridget, why don’t you live here? I really wish you guys lived here!”

I say, “I know Cain, I wish we lived here too!!”

Cain says, “So why don’t you move here?”

I say, “Because Xander and Ethan’s Dad lives in Canada, and he doesn’t want them to move away from him.”

Cain says, “oh, okay.”

There’s a few minutes of silence and the Cain says, “but why can’t he just move back too?”

One of the boys said “Well, because he has a girlfriend and he doesn’t want to leave her.”

Silence then settles over the table and after a few minutes Grandma says “I’m going to turn on the fan!”

Xander laughs and says, “Thanks for breaking the awkward silence Grandma!”

The adults start laughing and Cain says, “what did he say?”

Ali replies with great authority “He said, thanks for breaking up the fruit salad Grandma!” Lmao
