Home Sweet Home

We had a FANTASTIC time on our holiday! Who wouldn’t? Barbados has the sun, the sea, the warmth and my family. The only thing Barbados did NOT have?? My hunk of a husband, Alex!

Even though we were sad to leave after 2 weeks of living it up in paradise, it was nice to come home. A lot of that has to do with the fact that we missed Al, but after 4 years of living in Canada – it is finally starting to feel like home.

Having said that, Xander always has a hard time leaving Barbados. He loves being around our family while we are there – but he also seems to be drawn to the island itself. Ethan, on the other hand, was ready to come home – and he always is. He misses his grandparents a lot, but his tie to Barbados itself is not that strong.

I always get worried when we come back, that the kids wish we lived in Barbados, Xander has said that in the past. That thought makes me so sad… it hurts my heart just thinking about it. Don’t get me wrong, I want them to LOVE it there, but I also want them to love it here – ya know?

So I was very happy to see both boys so excited to go to school this morning. They couldn’t wait to see their friends and talk about what they missed.

It is finally starting to feel like home:)
