The Tooth Fairy

Xander lost another tooth on Monday! This is tooth#3. So you know what that means – the Tooth Fairy visited us that night:)

I’ll let you in on an embarrassing secret… The Tooth Fairy often gets lost on the way to our house. Sometimes the tooth can stay under the pillow for a couple days before the tooth fairy finds her way here. Oh the shame!

Having said this, when Xander woke up yesterday morning – he completely forgot to check. At breakfast, we asked him if the Tooth Fairy came – he said ‘Oh shoot, I forgot.’

Ethan then started to whine about the fact that the Tooth Fairy has never come to visit him and he never gets any money! While Alex was explaining to him,again, that the Tooth Fairy brings $$ in exchange for a TOOTH, Xander snuck upstairs (unbeknownst to us) and did the most selfless thing imaginable for a 7 yr old…

He came back downstairs and said to Ethan ‘E – lets go get dressed.’

Then Ethan came downstairs happy as a clam, because the Tooth Fairy had visited him. HIM, Ethan – the boy who has not yet lost a tooth.

Xander took his tooth money and put it under his brother’s pillow.

You don’t know my son – but Xander giving away money, is the equivalent of a man dying of thirst, giving away his last drop of water!

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – I really believe that all this kid has been through (with his illness) has made him the kindest, most empathetic person I know. Needless to say – he ended up getting double the $$ from Mum & Dad, because we were so proud of him:) God, I love this kid!
