Christmas ‘o9 in Barbados

We were lucky enough to spend Christmas in Barbados – it was lovely to get a three week break from Canada’s cold weather! But the best part of the trip was getting to spend time with my family! We have definitely made a great life for ourselves here in Canada – we have honestly settled in better than I ever thought possible. We have a lovely home in a really fun neighborhood. We’ve made lots of friends, and our kids are able to experience things here that they would not have the opportunity to experience in Barbados. I get to be home with my kids, which is something I always wanted to do, but just wasn’t able to do in Barbados. There are definite advantages to living here… But when the doors to the plane open and the wall of heat hits me like a brick wall – I know that I am home. That feeling is intensified when, after waiting 2 hours to get through the immigration line, we walk out of the airport to be greeted by the people we love. No matter how long we live in Canada and how much we may love it – Barbados will always be where my heart is, because that is where my family is! Family Pic
