Tuesday’s Tutorial {cleaning your keyboard}
This may not be the coolest tutorial I’ve ever done, but it’s definitely the most practical. My husband, Alex, is a computer guy – he lives on his computer, even more than I do:) So today he was talking about how filthy his keyboard had gotten, and how we really needed to buy a keyboard vacuum.
I don’t know about you, but I have a lot of other things I’d rather spend my $20 on. So I came up with a brilliant idea (if I do say so myself) to clean his keyboard. I am a little embarrassed to tell you just how excited I got about this. Here is what it looked like before I got my hands on it.
Here’s how I did it… I went looking for an old pair of Nylons, but was unsuccessful in finding them. What I did find was this little bootie made from the same material, so I used it instead. I wrapped the bootie around the nozzle to my vacuum and secured it with a hair-tie, so that no keys could be sucked up into it. Then I vacuumed the keyboard.
Once I vacuumed out as much as I could, I used a peering knife with a Clorox wipe wrapped around it, to wipe out all of the tracks surrounding the keys.
Here is the end result, and it cost me nothing!! After Alex’s – I went on to clean every computer keyboard in the house. They are all sparkling like diamonds:)
