Goodbye 2011
In Barbados we don’t call this night New Year’s Eve… we call it Old Year’s Night. We celebrate the ending of the old year, rather than the beginning of a new one.
I am excited for the start of a new year and all of the great things we are hoping to come with it. But in keeping with our tradition of celebrating the old year, I’d like to take a minute to reflect on some of the great things that happened in our family this past year.
11 great things of 2011…
1. I became an aunt of twins Ali & Hailey, 2 of the most beautiful little girls I’ve ever seen!
2. I got a new nephew, Ben. Who is the cutest, most laid back kid I have ever known!
3. Alex & I went to a U2 concert and got to go backstage and meet the Base player – Adam. It was awesome!!!
4. We went to Niagara Falls for a mini family vacation.
5. I built a freaking deck! All by myself!
6. I celebrated 10 years of wedded bliss to Alex – the love of my life.
7. We became Permanent Residents of Canada.
8. We went camping with my parents for the first time EVER.
9. Ethan started Junior Kindergarten.
10. My parents bought a Condo in Collingwood, that we get to use:) We went up and hiked UP Blue Mountain!
11. My Mum turned 60, and we were able to go to Barbados to celebrate with her and the boys got to go Surfing!
Not a bad year by anyone’s standards:)
