Can You Read?

Another funny story, compliments of The E-TRAIN. We went to Ikea shopping for the new Condo with my Mom this past weekend. While waiting in line to check out, Ethan asks me for a piece of paper and pencil that I had in my hand. He then proceeded to right the letters from his name in different combinations – EATNHANEAT etc. (these are the only letters he really knows how to write yet). He then passes me the piece of paper and asks me if I know what it says. I say “No Ethie – what does it say?” To which he replies with exasperation “I can’t read!!!” He then promptly turns to his Dad and says – What does this say? Alex says he doesn’t know, and Ethan shouts “But you can read!” So by now we have caught onto the fact that he thinks he has written some sort of sentence or something. So my mother takes the paper from him and says “Let me see that Ethan, Oh Yes! It says ‘Today I went to Ikea with Mummy and Gramma and bought furniture for the new Condo. It will be delivered on Thursday.’ ” Well if you could see Ethan’s face! His jaw dropped wide open, and he says “I wrote all of that?” My Mum says – you sure did. And Ethan, ecstatic with himself says “I am an AWESOME writer! Gramma tell Mum & Dad what I wrote – tell them, read it to them, because they can’t read!” How funny is that!!!!!!!
