Remote Control Cake

A friend of mine turned 50 last month, and so our book club decided to surprise her with a birthday cake.

When thinking about what cake to do, we all remembered a funny story she told once involving a snoring husband and whacking said husband with a remote to get him to stop snoring, so we thought that would make a funny gag cake:)

This cake is made up of an 11×15 rectangle cake, as well as the carved cake that makes the remote. Not bad – right? I need to get more comfortable using Fondant though. Because cakes look so much more professional when covered in Fondant than Buttercream.

Tonight all of my friends told me that I should do this as a business. I’m thinking I might give it a go!
