Volunteering Pays off
When I was a stay at home Mum, I used to volunteer in the kids school all of the time, and I loved it:) I loved being able see them in their element, with friends I didn’t know so well, and I think it’s good to get to have a friendly relationship with their teachers. I’ve always volunteered, and for the past 5 years, that’s exactly what it was. But a couple years ago, Mrs. Buchanan, Xander’s teacher, gave me a gift card at the end of the year to thank me for all of my help:) The gift card was to an ice cream place called The Marble Slab, which I had completely forgotten about. Until today, that is! My kids came home from their Dads today talking about the marble slab, as that’s where they got his birthday cake from, and it jogged my memory! So off to the slab we went! Where 3 ice creams cost $22!!!!! Thank God for the gift card – because we will NEVER be getting ice cream from there again!! Lol Anyway, between the ice cream and the air conditioning we were freezing! So we needed up eating it in my car:)
