Ice Storm

I have always known that I have parents who love me with all of their hearts, but recently I’ve been thinking that they love me a lot more than they probably should!!!

My parents live on the beautiful, tropical, WARM island of Barbados and they are living that wonderful heat bubble to come and visit their only daughter for Christmas.

As though a regular winter in Canada isn’t bad enough… they arrived the night we had the worst ice storm I have seen in my time living here! We had 4 inches of ice coating our driveway! And a shortage of salt!!!

So we took to the driveway to chip away at the ice – it took HOURS, DAYS even!! I could let my exhaustion, and the fact that we’ve been without power make me bitter – but as miserable as this ice storm has been for everyone… It is one of the most beautiful things I have ever witnessed in nature!!
