Surfing Dudes!

All week the boys have been practising their ‘surfing’ in the pool. The main game was ‘Who can stay up the longest?’. Well it’s a good thing they’ve been working on their balance, because yesterday they got to go surfing FOR REAL!!

Growing up here my brother & cousins always surfed, but it was not something I ever got into for some reason. My cousin, Barry, was very good – he ranked in the top few on the island. Surfing was always a passion for Barry – he took off when he was 20 to travel the world with his board. When he came back, he opened a Surf Shop here and then a Surf School. My brother arranged for he & Barry to take the boys out this afternoon when they finished work. I wasn’t sure how they were going to do… I thought they might be scared to be out in the sea like that. But they both surprised me and did AMAZING!! What an awesome way to spend a rainy afternoon:)
