Homework Hell
I love my son. I really do. But doing homework with him (Xander) is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. It has been that way since Junior Kindergarten. Someone always ends up in tears – and it is usually me!
Since I had the genius idea to pull him out of school for 2 weeks to come to Barbados, I have to do work with him every day while we are here, to make sure he doesn’t fall behind.
THIS IS KILLING ME!
It is partially my fault – I know this. But knowing this doesn’t help. I am not built for it. I have no patience for it. I take my hat off to any woman that home-schools her kids!
Xander is just so frustrating to deal with. He fights doing the work with every fibre of his being. If he has 15 mins of home work, it takes us an hour because he spend 45mins trying to get out of doing it. At some point I’ll shout, then he’ll cry, then I’ll shout some more or I’ll cry. It is a disaster!
Meanwhile, my other son, Ethan, sits quietly, does his homework and then asks for more. Ying & Yang I tell you!
