Prehistoric Cake

My eldest son wanted to have a Dinosaur themed birthday party this year, so I decided to make a Dinosaur cake. I spent a lot of time researching and had a few very cool Dinosaur ideas planned out, but then my dear son threw me a curve-ball…. he wanted a volcano too!

I decided then that I couldn’t do the dinosaur as a cake – or else the volcano would have to be so big, it would be unstable. And so this cake was born!

This was only my second experience with Fondant (after the laptop cake) and I had a lot of fun making the little dinosaur figures!

Xander was super excited about the cake! And when his friends showed up one of them asked him if he got his cake from Cake Boss:) Made my day!
