Ophthalmologist Time
A scary possible side effect of X’s illness, is blindness. We have had no signs of that {knock on wood}, but we have to go to an Ophthalmologist once a year for a check up.
Well, today was that day. I dread going down into the city for these SOJIA-related Dr. visits – they stress me out! Even though X has been doing FABULOUSLY health-wise, I always worry that the news I’m going to hear is going to be bad. It is also a SUPER long day, between the 3hr commute there & back, and the 2hr wait to see the doctor, it is a lot to ask of the boys.
Thankfully X was given the all-clear for his eyes – YIPPEEEE! Last year the Dr. realized that he has a slight cloudy film on his eye, which will eventually turn into a Cataract. Today he said that the film is still there, but that it hasn’t gotten any worse.
As if that wasn’t good enough to make my day, when I was leaving the doctor’s office – a man in his mid to late 80s (who had also been in the waiting room for 2hrs), stopped me when I was leaving. He said “I just need to Congratulate you on what a good job you’ve done with your children. They are very well behaved boys – so Congratulations to you!”
MADE MY DAY!!!!!
